Country gravy, also called sawmill gravy or white gravy, is a sauce that can be served over meatballs, pork chops and oven baked chicken.

  • 1 package brown gravy
  • 1 can (354 mL) evaporated milk

Directions for Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, add the brown gravy mixture.
  2. The package directions will suggest adding a certain amount of cold water. Replace the water with evaporated milk.
  3. Slowly add the evaporated milk to the dry powder stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  4. Stir until smooth.
  5. Slowly heat the saucepan on medium heat. When the mixture begins to thicken, stir constantly until thickened.
  6. Serve right away. Enjoy!
