Ingredients

This no-bake recipe uses powdered milk and evaporated milk to create soft, fudgey cookies that are perfect with tea.

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ½ can or 150 mL sweet, condensed milk
  • ¼ cup warm milk, preferably evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup milk powder, preferably full fat
  • ¼ cup slivered or sliced almonds (optional)

Directions for Preparation

Easy directions

  1. On low heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter in a medium non-stick pan.
  2. Add the condensed milk, the warm milk and the vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Once combined, slowly stir in the milk powder until smooth.
  4. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  5. Add the last tablespoon of butter. Keep stirring until the mixture separates from pan and forms a dough that holds its shape. Remove from the heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  6. Knead the warm dough until it is smooth.
  7. Grease your hands with butter, take a tablespoon of dough, roll it into a small ball then slightly press at the center to form a cookie.
  8. Top with almonds, optional. Place the finished cookies on a plate covered with plastic wrap in the fridge to set. The cookies should not be touching.
  9. The cookies can be stored up to a week in the fridge.
