Snack: Salsa Guacamole

Servings: 1 ¾ cups or 6 -7 ¼ cup servings

Cooking time:


  • 4 ripe avocados, halved and pit removed
  • ½ cup tomato salsa
  • 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Directions for Preparation

  1. Scoop out the soft inside of the avocado in a bowl.
  2. Add the salsa and mash until almost smooth.
  3. Stir in the rest of the ingredients.

An avocado is ripe when it is a darker green and will give a little when squeezed. If you can’t find ripe avocados, put firm avocados in a bag with a few apples. The apples release a gas that speed up the ripening process.
