Pond Inlet and Iqaluit Sew Lasting Relationships with Canada Goose, First Air, and their Communities!
June 2009
June 11th and 12th marked the grand opening of Canada Goose Resource Center for the communities of Pond Inlet and Iqaluit. Canada Goose presented the idea of giving away fabric roll ends, batting, and buttons for FREE as a way to support their communities and to recycle remnants. The North West Company and First Air are thrilled to partner with Canada Goose in this worthwhile project. As a result, on every second Saturday, Northern and NorthMart will open a temporary resource center to give away supplies and First Air will be providing a round trip ticket to Ottawa as first prize in November 2009 for the best parka created from the fabric supplied.
We are thrilled that the communities welcomed the center on Grand Opening Day with overwhelming attendance!
